A cordless drill is an electric drill which uses rechargeable batteries. These drills are available with similar features to an AC mains-powered drill. ... They are available in the hammer drill configuration and most have a clutch, which aids in driving screws into various substrates while not damaging them.

Safety Instructions


Always Wear Protective Eyewear. Avoid Baggy/Loose Clothing. Loose sleeves, jewelry and hair can be a hazard when you are operating a power drill.

Preparation

Secure Your Work Piece. Drill Pilot Holes or use center punch to start holes. Use a Drill Stand if necessary. Properly Set the Drill Bit - hand tighten chuck and make sure drill is spinning concentrically before tightening with chuck key.

Active Use

Apply Proper Pressure to the Drill - not excessive. Peck drill if necessary. Drill only in a perpendicular direction to the materiel being perforated. Adjust the clutch according to material hardness. Never use drill bits to purposely elongate holes.

Clean Up

Sweep/vacuum any debris and clean/deburr any holes and put away drill bits & countersinks that were used.
